With so much choice in San Angelo, TX, it can be hard to know where to begin when you’re looking for somewhere good to eat. We’re here to help you, and if you’re thinking about a meal from south of the border, let us take you through the best Mexican food you’re going to find.

1. Franco’s Cafe

You can call into this delightful cafe restaurant for a superb Mexican breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner, and be sure that the food will always be freshly prepared with care to authentic recipes.

Huevos Rancheros eggs are a regular order for us unless we’re feeling ravenous early in the day and go for the Chorizo and Egg Breakfast Burrito. Later in the day, you’ll find a full menu with all the typical dishes cooked to perfection. There’s a special children’s menu and also daily lunch and family specials that offer excellent value.

2. Armenta’s

Locals frequently comment that this restaurant serves some of the most authentic Mexican food in town, and we tend to agree. Service is fast and friendly, and you’ll find everything you’d expect for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Chicken Fajitas here are superb, as are the wonderfully hot Chile Relleno stuffed peppers. Hard as it might be, it’s well worth trying to leave room for some of the excellent dessert selection.

3. Henry’s

This is a superb family-run restaurant that has been a local staple since the eighties. As well as being great for a regular lunch or dinner, Henry’s is particularly popular with family groups and is perfect for parties.

The menu is comprehensive, and there are daily specials to check out for extra value. Henry’s Combination of two beef tacos and two cheese enchiladas is one of our common choices unless we’re extra hungry, and then it’s the Tres Colores enchilada beef, chicken, and cheese combination.

4. El Paisano Restaurante

This is another excellent choice for breakfast, lunch, or dinner that will leave you extra satisfied. If it’s early, then the breakfast selection is one of the widest around, with all the expected meat and egg options and more.

Among the house specialties is the famous KC Steak Mexicano, perfectly cooked to your preference and served with avocado, grilled jalapenos, beans, rice, and tortillas. You’ll find whatever you are looking for on the menu here, and if you have little ones with you, there’s a great choice of spicy and more conventional options.

5. Fuentes Cafe Downtown

We love the authentic decor and warm welcome that we always receive when we eat at this family-run cafe restaurant. We will almost always start with the Cincos Nachos, which come smothered in cheese, guacamole, and jalapenos.

Then it’s a hard choice as the menu is packed full of delicious-sounding dishes. The tacos here are generously filled and rightly popular, and there is also an outstanding selection of seafood dishes. The slow-cooked Guiso stew is famous locally and is an authentic taste of original family cooking.

When you’re in the area, you’ve got to come and see us at Randall Motors. Our new and used Cadillac range is one of the very best in all of Texas, and you’ll also get our famous, family-run dedication to the finest customer service.
